Meet the original "Big Brother". The NBC University Theatre Productions were created to bring the great classic works of literature to a wider audience, Some Universitys even offered credits for listening to the broadcast. Each broadcast remained true to the original story and included a short critique on the novel by an academic. The academic credentials of the production however, in no way detract from the enjoyment of an entertaining and well produced radio drama.

I am thinking that your age would greatly influence your decision here? many of us believe the movies that we watched as children are the best and should carry the award of best movies.

Theres no doubt that over time technology has moved on and producers have been capable of more advanced special effects creatign a more encompassing experience. But is that what it boils done to? Is a good movie about special effects and the quality of the film? I think not. One thing that hasnt changed is the ability and creativity of the producer to capture the imagination of the audience. Its true that movies makers have had a life long battle with censorship but that aside, the 20's through to the 00's have a level playing field.

The 60's saw a change in the culture of film with new techniques and more relaxed censorship, the birth of modern day cinema was about us with hoards of teens and others heading for the box office.

A fantastic movie based on HG Wells vision of the future and book of the same name, the shape of things to come plots the 100 year future of mankind from 1940 to 2040.
A little differnt to George Orwells Big Brother vision, but fantastic all the same.
The second world war which was still brewing at the time, in the film lasts for decades and is followed by a great plague that wipes out most of the survivors of humanity. Rescue comes from a mysterious organisation wich spreads out over the planet re-civilising the surviving small isolated groups and re-introducing advanced technology...not everyones happy about it though.
